Our Water Softeners are made with the best quality parts in the industry. Having true 1” internal piping maintains high flow and high pressure, so you don’t have to choose between pressure or softening! Other systems are set up with a one size fits all approach. We design your softeners for your water demand and water quality, to maximize value, benefits & longevity of your investment!
We live in the Texas Hill Country, so we know the water conditions and challenges we all face with water quality! Our aim is to provide complete solutions, empower you with knowledge, and create a lifelong relationship. We strive to be the specialist you refer to your family and friends as THE MOST valued source for your Water Filtration & Purification needs.
Whether your water comes through a water meter from a utility provider or from your own Well in the ground, your water enters into your home as “Hard” Water. Hard Water is water that contains Calcium & Magnesium, which is corrosive, and can destroy plumbing pipes and fittings, attack appliances and water heaters, clog shower heads and faucets, and leave your shower glass and dishes with mineral deposit spots and stains. A Water Softener specifically removes these two minerals from your water through an ionization process. Inside the tank with the controller is a product called Resin or Softening Media. It grabs the hard water minerals out of the water as it flows through the media, and then flushes them down the drain, leaving your water what we call “soft”. Soft water leaves dishes cleaner, feels soft on your skin almost like there is lotion in your water, suds up much better enabling you to save money by using less soap and shampoo, and helps you protect one of your biggest assets & investments, YOUR HOME.
Water Softeners have a 2nd tank that requires either Salt (specifically water softener salt) or Potassium. These can both come in bags of 25 or 40lbs, and take the form of crystals or pellets. The potassium bags cost about 4x’s what the salt bags costs, so salt is the most common product used in this 2nd tank. The salt dissolves into water in the 2nd tank, creating a salt saturated solution called a Brine, so the 2nd tank is referred to as a Brine Tank. When you use water in your home, it does NOT flow through this Brine Tank. The softener can only grab so much of the hard water deposits before it needs to release those deposits so that it can continue to grab more. When the softener gets to that point in it’s program, it goes through a process called “Regeneration”. This process takes 1-2 hours, in which the controller on the 1st tank will loosen the media up (called Backwash), then draw the Brine Water from the Brine Tank and let the media soak in that solution. This allows the media to release the Hard Water Deposits and prepares the media to do it all over again. Next the system will Backwash again, then do a final Rinse of the media to flush out the Brine Solution. Lastly, the controller will add water back into the Brine Tank to soak up Salt and prepare for the Regeneration cycle which will happen every 10days. During the Softening Process, the media will ”exchange” the Calcium & Magnesium in the water with Sodium, making the Ion Exchange.
